Bridal Boudoir: creating the perfect wedding gift

Arranging a boudoir photoshoot before your wedding allows you to create a really personal gift for the person you love, and is an incredible way to boost your confidence before the big day.

“The idea of a boudoir photoshoot was always in the back of my mind and I knew it would be something that James would never expect as I am quite a reserved person. It was so difficult to keep it a secret! I took the album to Italy with us and on the morning of the wedding, I instructed his groomsmen to give it to him and then leave the room!

James said he got quite emotional when he opened the album. He absolutely loved it! I would definitely recommend any future bride to book a boudoir photoshoot with Foxlow! Aside from it being an amazing gift to your future husband or wife, it is a great confidence boost for yourself. It's also a good excuse to get some nice new lingerie!” Verity

Boost your self confidence.

Although they’re very excited for their wedding, many brides say they’re nervous about being the centre of attention on the day. Too many women struggle with their body confidence, even on their special day. How amazing would it be to see yourself through the eyes of your partner, realise how beautiful you are and feel confident in yourself on your wedding day?!

“My photoshoot was a great experience! Anyone who is feeling nervous, try and embrace it. I found myself feeling more and more confident as I went on and seeing the photos afterwards has given me so much more confidence in myself.

It's great to have a book to look back on now and think 'I actually do look this great', especially on days where we don’t feel so good in ourselves. The whole experience was amazing! Would 100% recommend to anyone - they wont be disappointed!” Claire

FAQs

When should I book my boudoir photoshoot?

Our frames and albums take up to 8 weeks to be printed and delivered, so we suggest booking 2 or 3 months before your wedding. We're currently booked about 4 months ahead, so it’s best to get in touch with us 6-12 months before the big day to schedule a photoshoot.

p.s. We do occasionally have last minute appointments available, so it's always worth contacting us even if you're on a tight timescale.

Do I need to wear bridal lingerie?

We recommend that you bring 3 or 4 lingerie outfits to your photoshoot so you can explore different styles and sides of your personality, and many brides do choose for one of those looks to be traditionally bridal. We’ll send you our style guide which is full of suggestions and we can also offer you second opinions and personal advice. You certainly don’t have to wear a particular style or colour of lingerie to create a wedding gift.

You could feature the underwear you will be wearing on your wedding day, or treat yourself to a bridal lingerie set that is just for your photoshoot. You can also bring along accessories such as your wedding shoes, jewellery, your ‘getting ready’ robe, a garter or your wedding veil. There’s no right or wrong way to dress for bridal boudoir.

How can I personalise the images for my fiancé(e)?

There are endless possibilities here! You could borrowing a shirt or jacket from their wardrobe for a ‘Sunday morning’ look, bring along something to representing their hobby or career, include kinky accessories like handcuffs, highlight their favourite feature in the photos, or wearing something special they bought for you. Of course featuring your engagement ring is a simple yet fabulous idea too.

What can I create with the photos?

Our photo collections feature a beautiful album or folio box with all your favourite photos, there are a range of options from £899. You can then add beautiful wooden frames and sleek aluminium panels in a range of sizes from £499 to create something special to display at home.

When should I give them my gift?

Traditionally a gift would be given in secret on the morning of the wedding, but there are so many options here! Some brides like to give their photos the night before, others when they return home after their honeymoon. Personally I love it when you surprise them with the photos the morning after the wedding - that way you have something exciting to look forward to once all your guests have left and can share that moment, enjoying their reaction.

Can we keep this a secret?

Absolutely! Your photos and experience with us are completely confidential unless you give us written permission to share them. We’re proud that approximately half of our clients do allow us to share their photos to inspire others, but it’s a very personal decision that you can make once you’ve seen your photos. Don’t worry, we can always wait until after the wedding to make sure we don't spoil the surprise!

“I came to Danielle and Jon to give my husband something intimate and unique, I ended up leaving with just that and a new re-born confidence within myself and my body. I highly, highly urge every woman out there reading my words not to be scared to step out of that comfort zone.

Give yourself the gift of confidence, give yourself that chance to fall in love with your body no matter what size or shape you are! You won’t regret it, trust me.” Crystal
